Pros
-- Clear 7 inch screen even when viewed at an angle. I sat 2 seats over from my son and could still watch the movie just fine.
-- Very clear and crisp audio at higher volumes and volume control is precise enough for equally good quality at lower levels. We were able to listen just fine on the plane without disturbing the people in fornt or behind us
-- Ease of use. There aren't too many options to fiddle with. The movies load very quickly and can be from stop to DVD menu in a few seconds.
-- Not too bulky. Closed, it's about the size of a moderately sized hard-cover novel.
-- Price. Can't beat this for under a hundred bucks.(8 inch screens are more expensive. Not sure if the extra inch is worth the price difference

It's alright, January 9, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Philips PD700/37 7-Inch LCD Portable DVD Player, White (Electronics) Bought this for my 5 yr. old daughter - she loves it of course! the 7inch screen is quite small, but picture quality is good. It just seems a bit flimsy, I'm not optimistic that this is going to last any longer than a year. But, it's what I paid for - because it's for a 5yr old! he battery life is very short - maybe 1.5-2 hrs. It constantly needs to be recharged, and it DOES NOt recharge while it's plugged in and being watched simultaneously. Has to be powered off. It's alright.

Everyone Was Glad We Bought This, November 5, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Philips PD700/37 7-Inch LCD Portable DVD Player, White (Electronics) We bought our Philips portable DVD player after our last flight with our 2 year-old son, Hank. Our previous flight was a nightmare and I'm sure we were hated by everyone six isles in each direction. This last trip we set him up with his fave movie and never heard a peep out of him, except laughing. I highly recommend this plan to anyone traveling with tots.
